Camp Bestival: ‘The Alternative Weekend Retreat’

Whether seen as an alternative option or simply a warm-up to its much larger sibling, Rob da Bank’s Camp Bestival is certainly one festival that should not be overlooked this summer. Set within the spectacular grounds of Lulworth Castle in Dorset, the family-friendly festival provides all ages with the fanatical fairytale that a weekend retreat in a recluse English village could never achieve.

Furthermore the underlining attributes that have made Bestival one of the most sought after tickets of the summer have not been reserved purely for those who make the expedition across The Solent. Camp Bestival offers all the extremities we would usually associate with its established counterpart such as Fancy Dress, Freestyle Sports and even Jousting events.

The line up is rather good too. Aside from headliners such as Friendly Fires and The Human League, Rob da Bank has obviously utilised his contacts in the Dance world with an array of DJs performing over the three days. Highlights include DJ Yoda, Jakwob, Jack Beats, Boy 8 Bit and Joy Orbison to name but a few. So for those hesitant on braving the sombre channel to the Isle of Wight or considering an additional festival ticket purchase before the summer officially commences, this is one festival worth opting for.
