Band of the week…

Posted on July 27, 2010

This electro-indie outfit are not to be confused with the corresponding title of the 2007 horror film in which a young American girl suffers from a grotesque and unfortunate deformity that leads to the development of a set of dental features within her lady-parts. Originating from East London, the band has been propelled into the spotlight through the critical acclaim of Public Relations juggernauts such as Radio One’s Nick Grimshaw and Huw Stephens, stemming from their chaotic yet mesmerising live performances within the Dalston party scene and more recently the supporting slot on tour with Is Tropical.

The single, ‘See Spaces’ is the band’s debut release through the independent, indie record label Moshi Moshi who in recent years has supported releases from Florence And The Machine, Late Of The Pier and Friendly Fires. The combination of ghostly vocals and pulsating synth lines creates a compelling record, comparable with the work of an atmospheric CSS or New Young Pony Club. The track is available to download from the 16th August.
